On December 24, 2017, Biwa was born in the heart of Tulum — a project that transformed rubble into a boutique refuge of 16 rooms. Conceived as a hidden pearl, its name comes from the Biwa pearl, cultivated in the waters of Lake Biwako in Kyoto, celebrated for its unique reflections and deep luster. Inspired by this symbol of rarity and beauty, Biwa became an emblem of rebirth: a hotel offering absolute comfort, from balconies overlooking the vibrant town center to a pool with hydromassage, a rooftop bar, and spaces designed to experience serenity in the midst of the city.
